We are happy to welcome another strong leader into our Callzilla family! Andrea, our Senior Human Relations Manager, has a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Univeresity of Konrad Lorenz. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Canterbury of New Zealand. She comes to us with experience and certifications in many relevant fields, such as Coaching, Talent and Succession Strategies, SGSST (an occupational health and safety management system), and Labor and Social Security laws, among others.
Andrea is a highly skilled and experienced professional with more than 15 years as a leader in Human Resources in National and Multinational business. She has worked in various industries, including service, education and technology. Her cultural experience from living in multiple countries also serves Andrea well in this field.
Andrea says all countries have different things to offer, but most recently lived in New Zealand for three and a half years and enjoyed the multi-cultural environment. She learned a lot from the mix of cultures, which has helped her in HR. Andrea was able to connect with people from all over the world, and she strives to facilitate a healthy and diverse work environment wherever she goes.
She describes the most rewarding part of working in HR as the contact she has with people. When recruiting, she places employees based on their skill set, and then continues to work with them on finding their place in the company’s culture. Andrea believes that if you have high standards for your talent and you place them in a good environment, you’ll have a well-rounded and successful company. “If everyone presents the best versions of themselves, you can improve any environment, whether that be your company, family, or community.”
I asked Andrea after her first few months with us if Callzilla is what she expected it to be. She says a common misconception amongst employees is that Callzilla is a small company, because it feels like such a tight knit community when you’re in it. That’s how people would describe the company to her when she first started, but she quickly realized that Callzilla is a larger competitor in the industry and growing every day.
With 15 years in leadership, she knows it’s important to instill confidence in her team members. Andrea doesn’t pretend to know everything and trusts her team to do their best within their specialties, and she in turn gains respect for that perspective. Her team is comprised of experienced and knowledgeable individuals, and she knows they can do their best work if they’re given the opportunity to do it.
Outside of the office, Andrea has a passion for dance! She met her husband salsa dancing, so it’s a big part of their lives. If you visit our team in Bogotá, there is a good chance you’ll get a side of salsa dancing with your dinner!
Please join us in welcoming Andrea to the team, and feel free to contact us with any questions regarding partnership or employment.
